Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and a Major in the Air National Guard, today issued the following in regards to the terrorist attack on the U.S. Embassy in Turkey:

"An act of terror against the U.S. Embassy on our ally's soil is meant to destabilize our alliance with that country. Turkey is one of our most important NATO allies and we will remain committed to working with them to combat terrorist groups in the region.

"I offer my condolences to the innocent life lost and I stand ready to assist the State Department and Turkey. We must ensure our diplomats are not only protected, but also have the confidence in knowing their country will do everything in its power to protect them so they may serve their country to their full potential."
