Congressman Steve King released the following statement after joining Members of the House of Representatives in reading the entire Constitution aloud on the House floor. This is the second time the Constitution has been read by Members of Congress on the House floor. The first took place when Republicans regained the majority in 2011.

"Today I took part in a new and significant tradition," said King. "The Constitution is the Supreme law of the land, and I consider it a great responsibility to uphold the principles outlined within its pages. I believe that the Founding Fathers were divinely guided as they built the foundation of our country, and it was an honor to recognize their names on the House floor today. The challenges facing our nation are great, but we can unite and band together if we use the Constitution as our guide."
