Barrow Sworn in for 113th Congress

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today was sworn in for his fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. The new 12th District covers all of Appling, Bulloch, Burke, Candler, Coffee, Emanuel, Evans, Jeff Davis, Jenkins, Laurens, Montgomery, Richmond, Screven, Tattnall, Toombs, Treutlen, and Wheeler Counties, as well as parts of Columbia and Effingham Counties. Congressman Barrow was first elected to the House in 2004.

"It is a tremendous honor to represent the folks of the 12th District of Georgia," said Congressman Barrow. "Our country faces some very serious challenges, and if the past has taught us anything, it's that the hyper-partisanship has to stop if we're going to accomplish anything in Congress. I'm an employee of the residents of the 12th District, and as we start the 113th Congress, I'll continue to fight for them and work with folks on both sides of the aisle to ensure our families and businesses have the best environment possible to succeed."

Congressman Barrow will continue to serve on the powerful House Committee on Energy and Commerce and will serve as the Co-Chair for Administration of the Blue Dog Coalition.

With the redrawn Congressional districts officially taking effect today, Congressman Barrow's Savannah District office has closed. In addition, Congressman Barrow has re-located his Augusta District Office to 1450 Greene Street, Suite 550, Augusta, GA 30901.
