As I've said in the past, any increase in the debt ceiling must be offset by an equal or greater cut in spending. Americans are not taxed too little; rather, Washington spends too much. The House has passed numerous pieces of legislation that would address this spending problem. Unfortunately, President Obama and Senate Democrats have refused to consider them. It is now time for the President and Senate to work with the House to reign in the out-of-control federal spending that has created a $16 trillion national debt that threatens the prosperity of our children and grandchildren.
