Rep. Bonner Statement on House Passage of "No Budget, No Pay Act"

"The last time the Senate fulfilled its legal obligation to pass a federal budget a barrel of crude oil was $51 and Barack Obama was just sworn in to his first term.

"Today, the House passed the No Budget, No Pay Act to force Senate Democrats to finally pass a budget. If Senators don't pass a budget, their pay will be withheld. It is clear the American people want Washington to pass a responsible budget and live by it. The Senate must show the American people they understand the seriousness of the debt crisis facing our nation and are willing to put a plan on paper for everyone to review.

"Since Republicans became the majority in the House in 2011, we have passed two budgets, the most recent of which called for a $4 trillion reduction in federal spending over a decade. It's time for the Senate to pass a budget."
