Serves on the Health Fund Advisory Committee, which funds the Delaware Prescription Assistance Program for the elderly and disabled.

Serves on the Cancer Consortium, which has been successful in dramatically reducing Delaware's cancer death rate.

Led efforts to have hospitals with the best stroke programs designated as primary stroke centers - letting EMTs and paramedics know where to take stroke patients.

Created the office of Occupational Health which works with state agencies and small business on reducing workplace risks and exposure to cancer-causing agents.

Worked with other lawmakers, veterans groups and Minner Administration to bring Delaware its first Veterans Home, which provides a range of options including assisted living and full nursing home services to our vets.

Teamed up with other lawmakers to demand that citizens and medical researchers get more detailed information on areas with high cancer rates to help them cut their cancer risk.

Sponsored a measure requiring professional training and certification for attendants at the Delaware Psychiatric Center to help protect patients from abuse.
