Far too often our leaders in Atlanta focus on what will create jobs in North Georgia and forget about the people of South Georgia. The 2nd Congressional District, in which most of the 11th Senate district resides, is one of the poorest in the nation.

As your next State Senator, my focus will be on jobs here at home. In 2010, while serving as the State Representative for Thomas and Grady counties, I worked to pass the JOBS Act of 2010 which rewarded startup small businesses for hiring permanent workers. Passed the House and Senate, but unfortunately the Governor at the time vetoed it.

This measure would have also cut taxes for small businesses as well as provide incentives for angel investors. When I am elected, I will get to work once again on this kind of free market legislation.
