Voter ID is needed in West Virginia and throughout the United States. It is a simple requirement that you must show a valid photo ID to vote. Voter ID will guarantee the identity of a voter much easier than using the traditional method of matching signatures. This simple action will instantly add more security and integrity to the voting process. Because of groups such as ACORN and many others, we now have thousands of illegally registered citizens in West Virginia and across the United States. We must take action to prevent this and rid our state of the stereotype that even the dead vote here.
The argument against Voter ID is that it discriminates and disenfranchises minorities, elderly, and the poor .None of which is true. To do almost everything in life (including cash a check, use food stamps, fly, ride a train, use a credit card, applying for a loan, buy alcohol or tobacco, etc ) you must have valid photo identification. When making decisions in public office, I always look at the facts instead of listening to rhetoric.
