The dedication of Montana's law enforcement professionals--the men and women who keep our neighborhoods and highways safe--truly inspires me. They give us their best, and so we owe them nothing less. That's why as Attorney General I'll work closely with the law enforcement community and be an advocate in the legislature and elsewhere for what they need to do their jobs. This includes addressing the challenges facing the state's Crime Lab, and giving Montana law enforcement the best tools available in the industry to prosecute criminals and obtain convictions. I will fight to keep federal Justice Assistance Grants, a vital source of law enforcement funding, available for Montana. I will also strengthen the Department of Justice's grant-writing program with trained professionals who can find much-needed dollars from sources other than Montana taxpayers to help meet the state's law enforcement needs.
