KOHL, BALDWIN SECURE FEDERAL FUNDS FOR BELOIT
Gateway Blvd., Neighborhoods to Benefit
Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin and Senator Herb Kohl have secured more than $1 million in federal funds to bolster Beloit's economic and neighborhood development projects. The money is included in the fiscal year 2005 omnibus federal budget bill passed today in Congress. Baldwin fought for the funding in the House, as did Kohl in the Senate.
"I'm delighted to bring more federal funds to Beloit, especially in such tight economic times," said Baldwin. "The revitalization of this great city has been one of my top priorities since becoming your Congresswoman. I look forward to even more progress in our federal/municipal partnership."
"Every year the appropriations process gives us the opportunity to invest federal dollars in communities throughout Wisconsin," Kohl said. "Today's funding promotes economic development while giving our residents a return on their tax dollars. These are worthy urban renewal projects whose benefits will outweigh its costs, and I am pleased to work with Congresswoman Baldwin to secure the funding."
