KOHL SECURES $1.5 MILLION IN BUDGET FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT LA CROSSE AIRPORT

WASHINGTON, D.C.-U.S. Senator Herb Kohl announced today that he secured $1.5 million for improvements at La Crosse Municipal Airport. The funding will be used to construct a parallel taxiway at the airport. The funding is included in the fiscal year 2005 omnibus budget bill, which Congress approved today. Kohl is a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and its Transportation Subcommittee and had identified the project as a priority for funding.

"Investments in our transportation infrastructure ultimately benefit the local economy. La Crosse Municipal Airport already serves thousands of business and private flights, and the new improvements will help ensure that the airport can accommodate even more in the future. I=m pleased we were able to set aside this funding for improvements at La Crosse Municipal Airport," Kohl said.
