I'm perplexed by the desire to manage campaign finances. In the sense, I'm running an effective campaign for less than $10,000 where my opponent has spent over $100,000 on previous elections. Both strategies are fine by me. What I believe we really want is ethical politicians. We want representatives to work for all their constituents, not just the donors.

It's time government look at reducing government's ability to dole out grants, simplifying the tax code, and even term limits. These are ways to avoid having career politicians return favors to big donors. The reality is that as long as we give government financial power, people will try to influence government for benefits.
