Issue Position

I want the best for All of my fellow citizens and future generations in Ashe and Watauga Counties.

Education is the only way we can provide employers with a 21st century knowledgeable workforce. We cannot cut the value of a quality education and achieve excellence.

I want to Support teachers, professors and staff, not lay them off or make their jobs more difficult.

I want North Carolina to have Jobs for all our working citizens.

I want to represent our small businesses the real job creators and backbone of our economy in the district so the middle class can support their families.

I want North Carolina to be a Business Friendly atmosphere that will welcome outside businesses to move here and provide jobs.

My Three Part Plan to create JOBS is:

1. N.C. First: Give local companies first crack at state and local contracts.

2. Made in N. C.: Reward companies hiring NC workers.

3. COMMUNITY COLLEGES: Strengthen the link between community colleges and businesses.

Let's Return Jobs to North Carolina by using our North Carolina Resources First.

I want to "Right Size" State Government to best serve our citizens.

I want North Carolina to be a Leader in providing for the public safety and welfare of our citizens.

When I served before, keeping the citizens of Ashe and Watauga Counties informed was a priority. Party affiliation didn't matter. I worked for you, getting things done for Ashe and Watauga, like the funding for the new College of Education building at ASU and the L. F. Anderson Forest Service building in Jefferson.
