Issue Position: Responsible Stewardship of Your Tax Dollars

Issue Position

During years of economic prosperity, the New Mexico Legislature increased government spending to match increased tax revenue. We are paying the price for those bad choices now with pet programs redirecting your tax dollars from where they are truly needed. I believe New Mexico government can both live within its means and put away for a rainy day, all without raising taxes.

We need legislators who won't keep kicking the can down the road, but rather demonstrate leadership and make tough decisions now, while we still do have choices.
