Dold Holds Employee Town Hall at Simmons Engineering Corporation

U.S. Congressman Robert J. Dold (IL-10) spent the afternoon at Simmons Engineering Corporation in Wheeling meeting with the small business owners, touring the facility, and holding a town hall meeting with employees. Dold visited the facility as part of his ongoing effort to listen to the job creators of the 10th District and take their ideas back to Washington.

"As part of my Main Street Jobs Agenda, I believe it is important to listen to your ideas and bring them back to Washington," said Dold. "As a small business owner, I know that the government doesn't create jobs; hardworking people like you create jobs. It is important that we find the barriers that are prohibiting job creators from expanding their businesses and then work together to put in place common sense policies that help to spur the economy."

During the town hall, Dold spoke the importance of smart regulations and removing burdensome red tape. Dold is a proponent of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and has introduced the Startup Act 2.0 which would allow foreign born individuals with a background in the STEM fields to stay in America and create jobs in our local communities, instead of abroad.

Rep. Dold is a small business owner and he has faced many of the challenges confronting business leaders today.
