Issue Position

While we passed a bipartisan budget in 2015 that provides new funding for our schools and students, we need to continue to address the many challenges that remain to providing a quality education for all students.

With an ongoing teacher shortage, we must find ways to recruit and keep the most highly qualified teachers.
We must continue to work to reduce overcrowding in our schools and classrooms.
We must improve coordination between our higher education system and business community to ensure we are providing a curriculum and retraining programs to meet today's employment needs.
