Issue Position

I am for Healthcare reform but I am against the Universal Healthcare System currently being proposed. I am for Doctors dealing directly with their patients and establishing a more free market approach to healthcare (i.e. Lasik Eye Surgery). In the Lasik market prices have consistently gone down and quality has gone up, all without government intervention or insurance payments. The federal government passed a sweeping healthcare bill that will REQUIRE you to purchase a product (health insurance plan) and will financially penalize you if you do not purchase it. I will do everything in my power to make sure Nevada residents aren't forced to buy it. It is unconstitutional for the federal government to force you to buy a product; Nevada is already part of the lawsuit filed in court to challenge the constitutionality of the bill and it should be decided by the Supreme Court sometime this year.
