Building on the success of the August Jobs and Economy Tour, I spent time this week travelling the district meeting with more companies large and small. One of the best and most important parts of my job is the opportunity to be at home in north Mississippi listening to the concerns of the people I represent.
Jobs creators and employees all across Mississippi are telling me that they are still struggling, and simply cannot afford to send even more money to Washington. This week we found out that the economy grew at an incredibly weak 1.3 percent nationwide in the second quarter of this year. This is simply not good enough and is another reminder of why we must stop the massive, job killing tax hike set to occur on January 1. The House has already passed legislation to stop the tax hike while we work on major tax reform, which is the subject of a blog post I wrote this week for The Hill.
Stay in touch and God bless,
