"Michigan and Macomb County must find ways to diversify and revive its slumping economy and create jobs. With Michigan's high unemployment rate, more and more people are out of jobs and are looking for work. Encouraging and cultivating entrepreneurship in Michigan is critical to our economic recovery and getting people back to work."

"We have seen that microenterprise programs open access to capital and provide technical support to entrepreneurs and small mom and pop businesses that need that extra push off the ground, said Switalski."We must shift our focus from simply giving tax breaks to big businesses as the Governor and legislative Republicans have been doing. Our plan puts Michigan small businesses and local jobs first and not the special interests."
