Issue Position


*I believe our state and nation are made better by the diversity of peoples, each with our unique experiences and perspectives; we are a nation of immigrants. However, illegal immigration poses a security risk and the federal government has clearly failed to maintain it's responsibilities. We immediately need innovative solutions at the state level to address the challenge of illegal immigration.
*I will support legislation to allow law enforcement to check immigration status of people charged with a criminal offense.
*Support legislation that requires businesses to verify residency prior to hiring.
*Allow hospitals and medical providers to seek payment from employers who hire illegal immigrants who then tax the healthcare system with unreimbursed care.
