Corker Votes Against Continuing Resolution Spending Bill

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Bob Corker, R-Tenn., made the following statement after voting against a massive spending bill known as a continuing resolution.

"We haven't passed a budget in more than three years and not a single appropriations bill has been brought to the floor this year, so I don't believe we should be considering a continuing resolution or any spending bill until we have done the basic job of prioritizing how taxpayer dollars are spent and at what levels," said Corker. "If the Senate can't perform its most basic responsibilities, I worry about how we're going to make the tough decisions and do the hard work that will be necessary to get our country on a path to fiscal solvency."

It has been 1,241 days since the Senate passed a budget.
