Veterans Hurt by Majority Leader Reid's Actions

Statement

"This legislation violated the Congressional Budget Act and I voted against waiving that Act, which I routinely do as a matter of principle even for legislation that I otherwise support. Senator Burr introduced an amendment I supported that would have fixed the problems with this bill, but the Majority Leader once again used his power to block any amendments from being considered. By not prioritizing veterans by addressing this issue at the beginning of the session, rather than the 11th hour, and hastily cobbling together language that violates the Budget Act, the Senate majority leader has done a disservice to veterans and these important issues."
