Congressman Jim Cooper says improving the economy remains the main focus of the convention and the president's campaign.

"The key is to get your basic party message across. And Democrats are trying to say that they're for middle class jobs. It's all about jobs in this weak economy. We want the economy to be stronger. The Nashville area is doing much better than the national average, so we should be proud of that. We need to lift the nation up though and make sure everybody has the opportunity to have the American dream."
