Renacci: On One of Our Darkest Days, Heroes Were Born

Statement

Date: Sept. 11, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Today, U.S. Representative Jim Renacci (OH-16) released the following statement on the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

"On the 11th anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in American history we once again pause to remember the horror of that day. In just under two hours, 3,000 innocent American citizens and members of our military lost their lives in the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and a field outside Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Many of us will gather to share memories of the lost and to remember one of America's darkest days.

"Despite the magnitude of the tragedy, there are also hundreds of stories of bravery, selflessness and triumph. Heroes were born that day. They represent the very best America has to offer, and they deserve our continued thanks and remembrance. I ask that you also keep in your minds and in your prayers our service men and women who continue to place themselves in harm's way to defend America from those who wish to do us harm."

Rep. Renacci is serving his first term in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he is a member of the Financial Services Committee. Prior to his election he worked as a Certified Public Accountant in the health care industry, and owned and operated over 60 other businesses in the automotive and sports management fields.
