Remembering 9/11

Statement

Date: Sept. 17, 2012

his week we honored the memory of those Americans who lost their lives during 9/11. Because we must never forget their sacrifices, we pause to remember their lives. I was proud to join my Congressional colleagues on the steps of the U.S. Capitol for a memorial program and the singing of "God Bless America".

On this solemn anniversary, as Americans we all paused to pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 of our fellow citizens taken from us in New York, Pennsylvania, and at the Pentagon, and to all their family members left behind, as well as to those who have given their lives since 9/11 in defense of our way of life and our cherished freedom.

Congressman Steve Austria joins members of Congress during moment of silence during 9/11 ceremony in Washington, D.C. after singing "God Bless America".
