On Wednesday, I toured Gooding Company's Lockport facility to spotlight the adverse affect delays by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are having on job creation in Western New York.
Like many manufacturers, Gooding Company is looking for ways to expand their business. However, for nearly 8 months, the company has been waiting on the implementation of an FDA rule impacting the products they produce. I sent a letter to Margaret A. Hamburg, M.D., Commissioner of the FDA, requesting clarification on the delayed FDA proposal to reduce uncertainty for the Gooding Company and to allow this local company to expand.
Manufacturers across the country are suffering due to uncertainty caused by the Federal Government. I will continue to urge agencies like the FDA to provide clarity to our local businesses so they can invest, expand, and create jobs. As your Representative, I will fight for the conditions businesses need to grow and strengthen Western New York's economy.
