"Once again innocent people are being shot on our streets, this time a victim, his killer, and bystanders outside the Empire State Building. It is appalling that people going to work, or getting coffee to start their work day are not safe.
"It may have been a workplace dispute, but the fact that guns are so easily available to settle these disputes speaks to our having to rein in their availability. It is fruitless to argue that guns don't kill people, people do, because people use guns.
"New York City has strict guns laws but thanks to the "Iron Pipeline' of guns coming from states such as Virginia, where purchases are almost casual, they flood into our streets and you see the results today."
