13 Days

Location: Unknown

Joe Heck and House Republicans are going to be in Washington for 13 days of "work" between now and Election Day in November. I don't know about you, but I think Joe Heck should use those 13 days to focus on getting our economy back on track, and stop playing political games - especially with the health and safety of women.

There are no excuses: As Congress goes back into session, let's tell Congressman Joe Heck and House Republicans to authorize a strong Violence Against Women Act.

When Heck and House Republicans had the opportunity before, they didn't do the right thing. They weakened the Violence Against Women Act, letting their extreme ideology get in the way of protecting college students, LGBT women, immigrants, and Native Americans.

Heck needs to get this right.

Tell Joe Heck and House Republicans to get back to work and pass the full, bipartisan Violence Against Women Act already approved by the Senate.

We know that Heck opposes a woman's right to choose, even in cases of rape or incest, or if the life of the mother is at risk. And we know that, as a member of the Nevada Legislature, he voted against funding to help domestic violence victims and against funding for rape crisis centers.

It's time for Heck to stop putting the health and safety of Nevada women at risk: Join me and tell him to finally pass a strong Violence Against Women Act.

No more playing politics. No more messing around.

Just do the right thing, Joe.
