Issue Position

It is time that Congress passes a budget. I understand what it is like to go to work every day and struggle to pay the bills, pay my employees, pay medical bills and heat my home in the winter. Washington needs to be held accountable to play by the same rules as we do right here on Main Street. We cannot continue to just print more money and pass the burden on our children and grandchildren. It is time that Congress sits down together and makes the tough decisions that have to be made.

That is exactly what we did here in Maine. We were able to bring people together and pass common sense solutions including Regulatory reform, Welfare reform, Healthcare reform, Pension reform, and the largest tax decrease in the history of our state. While we have worked to bring prosperity back to Maine, Washington politicians are leading our nation in the opposite direction and the time for change is now.
