American Incomes Lowest Since 1995

Statement

Date: Sept. 13, 2012

Christopher Wight issued the following statement today:

"Our incomes are eroding to near 20-year lows and employment in New York City keeps rising. We must implement my economic recovery plan to create jobs and increase take-home pay.

"Americans will be faced with an additional tax bill of over $400 billion in 2013 unless we extend the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. We will create jobs, increase total government revenues, and stimulate long-term growth if we provide desperately needed tax relief for our businesses which are subject to higher taxes here than any other country in the world.

"Also we must implement an all-of-the-above strategy for domestic energy production. We are sending billions of dollars overseas to purchase energy when we have abundant natural resources here at home."
