Congressman Olver Responds to Attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Libya

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Olver released the following statement in response to last night's attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

"My thoughts are with the families of those killed in last night's outrageous attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya. I condemn this inexcusable violence against our diplomatic facility and those who work there. The Americans who died knew that their jobs carried risks, but put their own safety behind their desire to see a free, stable, and prosperous Libya. While we are outraged by this attack, we are also humbled by their sacrifice and grateful to the diplomats who continue their fallen colleagues' work - bringing peace, fighting poverty, and championing democracy across the globe."

4 Americans, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, were killed in the attack.
