Boustany: "Natural Gas Continues to Have a Bright Future in South Louisiana."

Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after Golden Pass Products LLC (Golden) recently filed an application with the United States Department of Energy to export liquid natural gas from the Golden Pass LNG receiving terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas:

"South Louisiana fully recognizes the enormous potential of one of our nation's most abundant natural resources: natural gas. The application signals Golden's ability to export natural gas from its existing site near Port Arthur. This $10 billion project results in a huge expansion of the international natural gas market very close to home.

"Between this recent news and Cheniere Energy Inc.'s plan to expand its operations in Cameron Parish, the natural gas industry continues to have a bright future in South Louisiana. It will create high-paying jobs locally while promoting our state's domestic resources internationally."
