Election-year Gimmick Grants Amnesty

President Obama's announcement earlier this year that he will no longer deport certain illegal immigrants is an election-year gimmick that amounts to amnesty and will be implemented at the expense of Georgia's taxpayers. Furthermore, we discovered that the eligibility requirements allow for an even greater amount of applicants than originally projected. This is yet another example of the President's administration refusing to secure our borders and enforce existing laws. For my part, I will continue advancing legislation--such as the E-verify Modernization Act and the Prohibiting the Backdoor Amnesty Act-- in order to stem the tide of illegal immigration and bring order to our nation's immigration policy.
