Congressman Gary Miller issued the following statement on the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:
"On this somber day, I join all Americans in remembering the men, women and children who were murdered eleven years ago in a despicable act of terror on our nation. Though years have passed, the pain of that day remains in our hearts and minds as we think of all those who were lost.
As we continue to grieve, we also remember the bravery and sacrifice of our nation's emergency responders and the men and women of our armed services. The gallant actions of these men and women continue to showcase the resilience of the American spirit as they work tirelessly to protect us at home and abroad. To those who have fallen in service to our nation, words can never express the depth of our gratitude to them and their families for the price they paid to protect our liberty.
While our nation continues to experience a number of challenges, I remain confident that we will be able to overcome any obstacle that confronts us. On this day, my prayers go out to the families of the victims of this tragedy, and to all those who continue to serve and defend our great country. May God continue to bless them and the United States of America."
