"This grant will provide vital funding to CSU- Dominguez Hills to continue its successful efforts in providing disadvantaged students with the needed support to establish successful careers. As a Member of Congress I have supported the continued funding of the Ronald McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program when others tried to defund the program."

"Through a competitive grant competition, funds were awarded to California State University at Dominguez Hills to prepare eligible participants for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. Participants are from disadvantaged backgrounds and have demonstrated strong academic potential. CSU- Dominguez Hills works closely with participants as they complete their undergraduate requirements and encourages participants to enroll in graduate programs."

"I will continue to support legislation that gives students the opportunity to have successful college careers, and am proud to have supported the authorization of the programs that made the funding of this grant possible. I applaud CSU- Dominguez Hills' efforts to increase the attainment of Ph.D. degrees by students from underrepresented segments of society, said Congresswoman Richardson".
