Sal Pace is criticizing opponent Scott Tipton for failing to address Todd Akin's controversial comments this week.

According to a Denver News 9 newscast, Congressman Tipton "ducked' comment when asked if Akin's should step down from his U.S. Senate race in Missouri. On the other hand both Congressmen Gardner and Coffman said Akin should drop out of the race.

U.S. Congressman Todd Akin (R-MO) came under fire this week when he commented about women's rights and said that in the cases of "legitimate rape," women's bodies will biologically block an unwanted pregnancy.

"Let me be crystal clear, Congressman Akin should end his campaign," Pace said. "Congressman Tipton should tell his constituents where he stands regarding whether Akin should step aside. Akin's comments are alarming, and Tipton should say whether he supports Akin's ideology or not. Congressman Tipton's Republican colleagues have called for Akin to resign, so it's conspicuous that Tipton remains silent."
