U.S. Rep. Bobby Schilling (R-Colona) is set to receive the "Friend of Agriculture" award from the Illinois Farm Bureau as a result of his efforts on the House Agriculture Committee to put farmers first in the Illinois 17th District.
"I'm honored to receive the 'Friend of Agriculture' award from the Illinois Farm Bureau," Schilling said. "As a first-term representative serving on the House Ag Committee, I've worked hard to put farmers first. Last week, I called on the House to set politics aside and pass the farm bill. Farmers can't afford to wait any longer--we need to get this done today. I also insisted that the Senate pass the sorely-needed disaster relief bill. Agriculture isn't a Republican or Democrat issue, it's an American issue and we need to prioritize it."
The Illinois Farm Bureau will present the award to Schilling in three different locations this week.
