Issue Position: Roll Back Taxes

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

Remember when the sales tax was raised a few years ago from 5% to 6.25%? It was promised by our government to be a temporary measure? Twice now, the politicians in Boston, led by my opponent, have voted not to keep that increase. Those tax increases, coupled with the increases in the state's income taxes, have directly hurt the people living in the 17th Worcester District, especially those who are on fixed income, disabled or not making a lot of money. This is an example of our current Rep being more worried about what the Boston leadership wants than what is best for his constituents. I am tired of being looked at as an ATM by our Representatives and I know you are too. If I am elected, I will fight hard to repeal those taxes so the voters of this district will have more money in their own pockets instead of it going into the hands of the Boston politicians.
