Mack: "Nelson's Silence Is Deafening on Holder"

Press Release

Date: July 28, 2012
Location: Miami, FL

In the wake of the events leading to today's House vote finding Attorney General Eric Holder "guilty" of contempt of Congress in both a civil and criminal capacity, Lockstep Liberal Senator Bill Nelson continues to remain silent on the actions of the Administration's botched "Fast and Furious" program.

"Bill Nelson's silence on Eric Holder's ability as U.S. Attorney General is deafening. Senator Nelson supported the confirmation of Eric Holder in lockstep with his liberal allies and now needs to call on his President to demand his resignation."

Mack was one of the first Members of Congress to call for Holder's resignation last November.

As a Member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Republican Senate candidate and Congressman Connie Mack voted in favor of a measure to find Attorney General Eric Holder guilty of contempt of Congress over the failure to produce key documents related to the botched "Fast and Furious" program under the jurisdiction of the Justice Department. The Obama-Holder botched "Fast and Furious" program resulted in the tragic death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
