Issue Position: Health Care

I am an independent insurance agent. I have provided health care services to many large companies and individuals. My private practice has given me the privilege of working closely with members of the medical community from both sides of the aisle.

The majority of doctors, surgeons, and health care officials that I have talked to all agree that the current status quo is not sufficient for America's health care needs. Our physicians and doctors foot the bill for patients that need care and await the insurance company's decision on funding costly procedures and treatments. At the same time, insurance agencies provide health care to more people than pay into their programs leading to a decrease in quality of service they can afford to provide.

I am committed to help address the needs of the patient, the doctor, and the insurance provider. If these three entities cannot agree to work together to maintain a healthy public, then the current state of our society will continue to diminish. Premiums will rise, there will be less coverage, and doctors will no longer focus on treating the patients but rather focus on being fairly compensated for their work.

My heart aches when I hear of someone in District 20 who tells me of their experiences being dropped by agencies, losing a loved one, or being unable to continue paying for their child's treatment. There is no price great enough to be placed on a human life, so it is my goal to make sure that the price will no longer be the deciding factor.
