Senator Baumgartner issued a statement today regarding the US House of Representatives' vote to repeal Obamacare.

"Today the US House of Representatives made the vote to repeal one of the most unpopular pieces of legislation ever to be signed into law," said Baumgartner. "I offer my thanks to the Congressmen and Congresswomen who voted to repeal the ill-conceived law, even knowing that it won't be touched in the US Senate."

"Votes like this illustrate exactly why this race to unseat Maria Cantwell is so important. With a Republican majority in the United States Senate, we could vote to finish the job started by the House of Representatives and repeal this law. We'd then work to find solutions that replace it with free market based ideas that lower cost and increase choice."

"Maria Cantwell and the Senate have done nothing to pull this country out of a national decline, and have instead focused on this monstrous legislation. The US House is at least proving that they can and will make tough decisions -- just as the US Senate will with a majority in 2013."
