Dear Friends:

As you gather this evening for a candlelight vigil, I want to express my condolences to the families affected by the recent tragedy in Wisconsin, and to the entire Sikh community.

Acts of violence such as these are an affront to the American traditions which we hold dear. We must not remain silent when any house of worship is attacked or in any way intimidated like this on our soil.

My thoughts and prayers remain with all of you as your community of faith begins to reflect and heal.

Jim Webb
United States Senator
