Issue Position: Lower Taxes

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

The best way to stimulate the economy, create jobs, and promote economic growth is to reduce taxes. Lowering taxes for both individuals and businesses will encourage spending and investing, which is a primary driving force behind a heathy economy. If we continue to raise taxes, we will only promote a larger, more intrusive and cumbersome government.

Government has both the "power to lay and collect taxes" (U.S. Constitution, Article 1, Section 8), and the duty to protect life, liberty, and property. With every dollar that the government takes from her people, that government also takes some of her people's property and liberty. It is the duty of any government to collect as little tax as possible.
