Quayle Statement on Tax Cut Extension Vote

Statement

Date: Aug. 2, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Ben Quayle released the following statement after voting to stop massive tax rises at the beginning of next year.

"President Obama's willingness to see tax rates skyrocket at the beginning of the year is just the latest indication that he is bent on pursuing a radical and damaging agenda. The President and his party are so desperate to avoid obviously needed spending cuts that they are willing to drop an enormous tax hike in the laps of struggling small businesspeople and workers to fund their spending binge.

"Today, House Republicans affirmed our commitment to protect American jobs and businesses by keeping tax rates from rising. If we are to get our economy back on a firm footing, the President needs to realize that we simply can't tax our way to prosperity."
