Issue Position: Arizona's Economy

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2012

Our state governments' job is to create a tax and regulatory environment that allows businesses to thrive and expand and create jobs for our citizens. We must lower the capital gains tax to encourage local investments as well as make serious efforts to (eventually) eliminate the Arizona income tax and replace it with a state sales tax. We must continue to resist the bureaucratic urge, and the Democrats drum beat, to spend more money than we take in. And we must also encourage business growth and development and do everything possible to eliminate useless, costly, and time consuming regulations. These changes will encourage business expansion and put Arizona in the driver's seat when competing with other states.
