Small businesses are the backbone of our local and national economy, making up 99 percent of all businesses and creating 70 percent of new jobs.
At a time of 10.3 percent unemployment in Florida, we should be doing all that we can to assist our most dynamic job creators. We can start by keeping taxes low and cutting the bureaucratic red tape and burdensome regulations that stifle job creation.

Government does not create jobs, small businesses like the thousands located in Southwest Florida create the jobs.

We must never forget that America's greatness comes from its people and their innovation, not more government intrusion.
