State Treasurer and US Senate Candidate Richard Mourdock announced the endorsement of the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) today in the Senate race.
"I appreciate the endorsement of the Associated Builders & Contractors because they represent an important segment of the construction industry, which includes small and family-owned businesses," explained Treasurer Mourdock. "To strengthen our economy, we need to encourage small
businesses to expand, which creates jobs, not saddle them with government regulations."
The President & CEO of ABC's Indiana chapter J.R. Gaylor expressed the organization's endorsement of Mourdock as, "We appreciate Richard Mourdock's thirty years in the Hoosier energy and construction industry and his commitment to a pro-growth agenda. With unemployment in the
construction industry of 13-15% over the last year, we are in dire need of a Senator like Richard Mourdock who will push for policies to create jobs, not stifle employers."
Founded in 1951, the ABC is a national association with 74 chapters representing 22,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms with nearly two million employees.
"Last week in the US House, Congressman Joe Donnelly for the third time sided with the President and against Hoosiers and Indiana businesses by supporting ObamaCare, ruled a massive tax on the middle class by the Supreme Court," stated Treasurer Mourdock. "By his continued actions,
Congressman Joe Donnelly confirmed his support for all aspects of ObamaCare, which includes increased taxes and rising insurance costs for small businesses."
