Rothfus endorser: Outsourcing is good for the US

Statement

Date: July 26, 2012
Issues: Trade

Keith Rothfus today announced that he was endorsed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. What Rothfus won't tell the people of Western Pennsylvania is that the U.S. Chamber is a leading proponent of outsourcing jobs to China and India. Unlike local Chambers of Commerce, which work to promote small businesses and job growth here, the U.S. Chamber's President Tom Donohue went so far as to pen an article claiming that outsourcing is "good for America." The U.S. Chamber has also hosted conferences with the Chinese government to promote the outsourcing of American jobs overseas.

"Keith Rothfus doesn't get it. The people of Western Pennsylvania are struggling and yet he is proud to be endorsed by a group that works with the Chinese government to ship more American jobs overseas," Mark Critz for Congress spokesman Mike Mikus said. "Mark Critz is fighting to end unfair trade deals that ship jobs overseas while Keith Rothfus is backed by the groups that think outsourcing jobs to China and India is a good thing for the American worker. That is the difference in this race."
