Issue Position: A Voice for our Seniors

Issue Position

Charlie has made it a priority to visit with seniors throughout New Hampshire to hear directly from them and learn about their thoughts and concerns. In the hundreds of meetings that he has had, the message has been the same -- we must preserve and protect the programs that seniors rely on and we must save our country from unsustainable debt so their grandchildren can have an even better New Hampshire and country than the one that they had. Charlie is dedicated to achieving both goals. Charlie will fight to strengthen Medicare so that today's seniors will never see a change to the benefits they have earned and to make sure that it is available for future generations. He is opposed to the President's health care law that cuts $575 billion from Medicare to pay for other programs; and he voted to end the ability of 15 unelected bureaucrats to come between seniors and their doctors. He support efforts to enhance and provide affordable long term care and improve home care so that seniors who want to stay in the comfort of their home and receive the care they need have the ability to do so. He is also committed to working in a bipartisan manner to strengthen Social Security.
