Congressman Bob Turner (NY-09) voted in support of H.R. 5856, the Department of Defense Appropriations Act 2013, which provides funding for troop support, overseas military efforts, and national security.

"The most important role of government is keeping its citizens safe. In order to do so, the military must have the funding and support necessary to do its job. The Defense Appropriations Bill enables our military to continue its mission and funds important quality of life programs for our troops and their families. In addition, this bill will also create reforms aimed at eliminating the wasteful spending of taxpayer money. By passing this bill, we are sending a message that protecting our country and providing for our military members and their families are our first priorities."
